'The crows assert that a single crow could destory the heavens. This is certainly true, but it proves nothing against the heavens, because heaven means precisely: the impossibility of crows.' Franz Kafka

Christ, is this Lofton guy still around? What an **shole. If you really wanted to get basic about this, a song about incest incites discussion about incest, and it is out of the closet for the first time in the USA in recent years. What's bad about that?

Wow -- I'm a Zappa fan, but he comes off a bit dull here as well -- this Lofton character Lofton is just WIDE open...

Wow, concerning Lofton's incest obession: Me thinks thou protesteth too much.

He's the kind of idiot with whom it is actually impossible to have a clear, informative debate with.

I hope he is dead by now, having choked on his own mouthful of words.

It kills me that "conservatives" want to use the power of the Govt. to shove a particular "moral" ideology down my throat and that "liberals" want to use the power of govt. to force social change through laws that mandate businesses to shoulder the burden, instead.

Conservatives want Govt. to keep their hands off of businesses (and wallets), but are delighted for Govt. to control or limit our personal freedoms. Liberals are the opposite, but they are just as miguided. Niether see the irony or incongruity of their thinking. Frank Z is right about the biggest threat to the U.S. (and I think to the world): the threat of religious facism and/or theocratic governments forcing their "morally superior" ideolgy on me or you! We need to be one nation, with no stated religious preference!

Our founding fathers may not have envisioned the problems that our modern society sometimes may endure as a result of our freedoms. I thank God they understood that people would want to use the power of Govt. to keep us safe from others who know "what's best for us!"

Compelling someone elso to do something "moral" is practically the definition of evil, in my opinion.

Did you notice how many times these clowns tried to sell government regulation and censorship by using the word "incest" in music. The attack on the family they claim is represented by this word repeatedly to discredit any opposition to government intervention. I love how Frank decides that these twits are not going to listen to any liberal ideas so he drops a bombshell on their fascist ideals. He points out how regulatory government is Reagan's regime of control! Do you think this is relevant today too?!?!

We miss you, Frank. I miss you, too. There are none so blind as those that will not see. You do not save freedom by denying freedom. Where's the honest exchange of ideas? Left to the mob. Where's the rule of law? Trampled on by the mob. A government that saves us from ourselves is both classicly liberal and difinitively fascist. We forget what you kept saying, that these are words we are talking about. Howsa 'bout Payne and Franklin, the printing press, the tracts and the whispers against the crown? These too were words. As is the Constitution of the United States. Words that keep us free. What I saw in this clip was three rich white guys telling another rich white guy to toe the line. And you, Frank, were the only guy to make a bit of sense.

It's funny, John Lofton is the same A**hole who, after the v-tech shooting, said that not only was it the schools fault for having a ban on handguns in classes, but that it was the victims fault for not carrying guns in defiance of that ban. Good to see that not much has changed and he's still a conservative prick.

In 1986, Frank Zappa thought that the government was moving toward a facist theocracy. Not to offend anyone. I think this has happened: the invasion of Iraq; the phone tapping; the supreme court rulings against freedom of speech (for the poor) and against lawsuits to attain the separation of church and state; the superstituous nutcases in the bush administration--many sent to 'manage' Iraq; the firings; the intimidation, manipulation, and silencing of journalists--see Morley Safer; and where are those weapons of mass destruction anyway? There will always be justifications that sound good--like Lofton's incest justification for censorship.
