Description: Ken Carter, Canda's answer to Evel Knievel, was a true legend among stuntman. In Carter's most daring attempt, he decided he wanted to make a rocket-powered jump over the St. Lawrence Seaway from Canada into the United States. He aborted his first attempt five seconds before take-off, and then locked himself in his hotel room for over a week. Meanwhile, a friend of Carter's is coaxed into making the jump without Carter's knowledge. He didn't make it, and Carter never got the chance to try, as he was killed attempting a different stunt a few months later. (less)
