Rush to War - Civil Rights & Civil Wrongs

Posted October 27, 2004

Movies & TV - Opening scene of Ambassador Joe Wilson talking about our American democracy, constitution, and how we need to hold the executive branch of our government accountable for it's actions. Also a look back at an American soliders family.

On September 11, 2001, America watched in horror as people died and the WTC fell in New York City. Since that day, many citizens have continued to watch in horror as our troops have died overseas, prisoners have been tortured in our name and our civil liberties have been violated. Filmmaker Robert Taicher's assembled news footage and interviews with journalists, Middle East experts and military men shows a president determined to subjugate our freedoms for our lusts: an unquenchable thirst for oil, imperialistic tendencies and a need for security and comfort at all costs. Some of the assembled: Ambassador Joseph Wilson, Noam Chomsky, Father Daniel Berrigan, Molly Ivins, George S. McGovern, General Anthony Zinni and many more.
