In 2004, a little known shooter entitled Tumiki Fighters was released for the PC and MAC. Flash forward four years, and Majesco has revived the title in the form of Blast Works, a side-scrolling shooter for Wii. Blast Works has had a lot going against it--especially as a retail release. Is it well-suited as a value-priced Wii game, or would it have been better off as a downloadable title for WiiWare? Read More

The original Alone in the Dark was a genre-defining, technical marvel, with cinematic cameras, a haunting story, and, unbelievably, these things called polygons that would later become all the rage. A mishmash of action and adventure, the prototype for survival horror was forgiven for its stiff controls, sometimes illogical puzzles and cheap deaths. Like other sports, NASCAR's first foray into the “next generation” of consoles last year was shaky at best. Rather than suffering from the lack of features curse that has afflicted other sports, NASCAR was hit with complete overhaul that alienated players with a convoluted and confusing career mode, and wonky car handling. The most insipid are the neutered retellings; the best are prequels and side-stories, which try to supplement more than complement the mythos. Either that or it's GoldenEye.
