Wall Street is finally receiving some relief after Playboy announced it will feature 20 former or current ladies of Wall Street in their upcoming spread titled “Bare Market Babes.” The “Women of Wall Street” issue is expected to hit newsstands in February 2009.
The issue gives the girls of Wall Street a chance to show off their distressed assets, become a hot commodity and bank some much needed cash. It’s expected the ladies will make between $1,000 and $5,000 for the shoot. Gary Cole, Playboy’s Senior Vice President and Photo Director, said “Given the current economic climate, we thought that Wall Street could use something to smile about right now.” We couldn’t agree more with them. We all need something to smile at.
The cheeky spread is not the first time Playboy has covered (or is that uncovered) the women who rule Wall Street. Twenty years ago they ran a similar spread in the magazine which quickly became a best seller. The magazine also ran a “Women of Enron" spread and a "Women of WorldCom” spread featuring women effected by the collapse of those companies.
To qualify for the spread, Playboy is looking for ladies who work or worked at a Wall Street financial institution, and can prove that they are at least 18 years old. Interested women are invited to send in a full body photo and bio to Playboy via email or snail mail.
In the meantime, enjoy these Playboy bunnies. Pretend they are former Wall Street hotties getting bailed out.
