Here's the money shot people. This is the final, real deal, production Camaro we'll be seeing sometime next year. We can all breath a sigh of relief that the lame Saleen-style headlights in the test mule versions are gone. And a bottle of JD should take care of any lingering memories soon enough.
The new Camaro will come in LS, LT, RS and SS models. Tranmission options will include a 6 speed manual, and the engine optoins (so far) include a 296 HP 3.6-liter V6 and a 416 HP 6.2-liter V8 in SS models, with cylinder deactivation (similiar to Chrysler's MDS). 300hp from a V6? Not bad, but I'd be hard pressed to pass up an LS2 motor, though.
While I was a very big fan of the concept exterior design of the Camaro, I still really feel like the production body is missing... something. It's just too sedate - too safe. Who knows, maybe a set of Torq Thrusts and a better grill would change my mind. However, I will admit that the interior is far above what's being offered in similar models like the Challenger. But if you've been following this blog, you probably already know which one of these pony cars is going to end up in my garage.
